Give teens facing mental health challenges a voice

Support their art exhibit and opportunity to meet with district reps at the state capitol in honor of National Children's Mental Health Awareness Week

We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!

$95 towards $5,000

So many adolescent voices remain unheard in the dialogue about mental health. Join me in making sure that their stories and experiences are heard.

I'm raising money for the Collaborative Voices campaign because I know the impact that art can have for adolescents as they face and navigate mental health challenges. By supporting this effort we can ensure that 30 teens have the opportunity to witness their art on display and engage with their legislative representatives in dialogue about their experiences.

About the Campaign

The Northern California Art Therapy Association (NorCATA) hopes to amplify the voices of marginalized teens who are experiencing mental health challenges by helping them participate in a community art show and program in honor of National Children's Mental Health Awareness Week.

This campaign, Collaborative Voices, continues NorCATA's history of supporting art therapy in Northern California schools and student participation in art exhibits to raise awareness for children's mental health. Participating students will be given the opportunity to witness their exhibited art in the Sacrament Capitol Building between May 5-19, 2017 and to speak with their district representatives about their experiences.

This is an invitation for diverse communities to join together, witness the lived experiences of their youth, and engage in their own ongoing conversations about adolescent mental health. Importantly, it will feature student artwork reflecting on the theme: what is unheard.

Funds raised will go toward student transportation and will cover art supplies used in the creation of their artwork.
